Newlywed Cheryl-Fernandez-Versini, 31, turned heads at the X Factor 2014 launch when she dressed like she seriously meant business at the Ham Yard hotel in Denman Street, London. The Geordie singer wore a black shift evening dresses which had a contrasting white collar and she teamed the look with a pair of monochrome high heeled shoes on Wednesday evening. Giving her look a splash of colour, the pretty brunette also wore red nails and a slick of matching scarlet lipstick.

Despite Cheryl's smiles for the camera, it appears that all has not been well with the star today and she took to Twittter to air her views. She wrote: 'One of those days when you get out of bed and just want to get back in it and wake up again tomorrow ..' She also posted an Instagram quote which read: 'Lesson of time - Karma. When a bird is alive. It eat ants. When the the bird is dead. Ants eat the bird. 'Time and circumstances can change at any time. Don't devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today. But remember...

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell and girlfriend Lauren Silverman indulged in several PDA's when they walked up the red carpet and posed for photographers. As he puckered up to the mother of his baby son, six month old, Eric, Simon stood out in his trademark open-buttoned white shirt, trousers and dark sunglasses.

While his lady looked stunning in a black leather pencil skirt, sleeveless blouse and a pair of killer heels. She added in a gold belt which cinched her in at the waist. Giggling as they posed by a promotional poster, the playful couple giggled as their fans threw lots of attention their way. They have been particularly tactile in public of late with them being pictured smooching in front of the cameras while on a recent break in St Tropez, France.

No doubt they enjoyed catching up with Simon's close friend and fellow judge, Louis Walsh who arrived wearing his beloved jeans, brogues and blazer combo. Guests at the launch drank Crystal Head vodka cocktails called 'Star in the making,' and 'The winner is...' Returning host, Dermot O'Leary was rocking a similar look but threw on a pair of grey jeans instead and The Xtra Factor host, Sarah Jane Crawford looked stunning in an orange printed mini cheap formal dresses. Meanwhile, Simon recently revealed more about his fall-out with fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, after he unceremoniously sacked her from American X Factor back in 2011.

Cowell told Radio Times that the singer had 'put on a bit of weight' and whose confidence had plummeted following the end of her marriage to Ashley Cole, had become unrecognisable.
